It is hard to believe we are only one week away from the winter break. The school year continues to fly by. I would like to thank are MOSAIC families for your continuous support and understanding this school year.
It was announced at last week’s PTO meeting that Mrs. Samantha Stormer would be stepping down as PTO’s President due to health concerns. The PTO’s Executive Committee voted Ms. Ashley Fleming as her replacement. This now leaves a vacancy in the Secretary position on the PTO Board. Nominations for this position must be sent to me at (email@example.com) no later than Monday, December 21st. If you are nominated for this position, you will be notified via email and have until Monday, January 4th to accept or decline your nomination. Nominees in acceptance will give a brief presentation at the January 12th PTO meeting. Voting will occur during the January 12th PTO meeting and the elected individual will be announced that evening.
We would like to thank Mrs. Stormer for her dedication and commitment to MOSAIC Elementary School and the Mehlville School District. We wish her good health and the very best in the future.
Reporting an Absence
We would like to remind our families of reporting your child’s absence if they are not going to be at school. You can report an absence on MOSAIC’s attendance line at 314-467-7910 or send an email to our attendance secretary Mrs. Melina Ulrich at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not send an email to your child’s classroom teacher to report an absence. The school office will communicate your child’s absence to their teacher. Thank you for your cooperation.
School Picture Pick-up for MOSAIC@Home Families
School picture proofs and pre-ordered packets for our MOSAIC@Home students are available for pick-up today, 12/14 until 4:00. Please ring the intercom and you will be met at the door with your items.
Next Monday, 12/21 packets will be available outside during supply pick-up from 8:00-9:00am and 3:30-4:00pm.
Proofs and packets went home with A and B Cohorts last Thursday and Friday. The MOSAIC order code is MOSA4912.
Retakes are scheduled for January 28 and 29.
Information from our School Food and Nutrition Department
Exciting news from School Food & Nutrition! Starting Dec. 15, students in attendance will be given a shelf stable meal bag to take home for the following day when they are learning virtually. The meal bags are FREE for all students. Parents, you don’t have to do anything! Providing meal bags to students is another way we can support them while they are learning virtually.
The bags will contain:
Breakfast-3 items: various items such as cereal, cereal bar, poptart, nutri-grain bar, zeezee bar and raisins or craisins and a juice box.
Lunch-4 items: Meat stick, cheddar cheese cup/salsa cup, tortilla chips, applesauce cup.
Additionally, we will be making a change to the menu items we will be offering in January at MOSAIC. Instead of offering what is listed both co-hort days, we will be serving what is listed for that day on the menu. The January menu is already offering several days in which both co-horts are offered the same choice. We will be adding Cheeseburgers as a daily option along with Turkey sandwich and Sunbutter & Jelly as a daily option still.

We will be hosting an evening of virtual festivities on Thursday, December 17th, so mark your calendars! To provide a more intimate experience, we are dividing the evening into two zoom groups:
A-K will zoom from 6:00pm-7:00pm
L-Z will zoom from 7:00pm-8:00pm

CONTEST ENDS WEDNESDAY 12/16! Remember to join the Facebook group Gingerbread House Contest and share your graham cracker creations to be entered into the contest. The contest has three categories with one winner per category. The participants will do the voting. Be on the lookout for the voting form after the contest closes!
