Dear MOSAIC Families,
The leaves are changing colors and it is wonderful outside. I hope everyone is taking time to enjoy this beautiful fall weather. I also hope our families are taking the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher for parent/teacher conferences. The teachers are eager to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress.
Please take a few moments to read this week’s Monday email blast.
Book Fair Information
Dear Parents and Families:
The Scholastic Book Fair is back! While the Fair will be exclusively held online this year, we still plan on making it a fun and joyous experience for our kids. Features include:
● MOSAIC Elementary’s own online store with a large selection of titles
● A Virtual Fair so you and your kids can experience the magic of the school
shopping experience. Browse titles by grade, view book trailers and explore over 6000 products.
● Every dollar you spend will benefit our school directly (25% back in rewards!)
Save these dates and view our school’s Fair site:
Fair Dates: October 16 – October 29
Online Store: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/
We will continue to offer supply pick-ups for MOSAIC@Home students only. During supply pick-up, families will receive classroom resources and materials from Ms. Huettenmeyer, Ms. Meyers and Mrs. Klang. This will also be a time for MOSAIC@Home students to check out books from our library. Our next pick-up date is Monday, October 26th at 8am and from 3:30-4:00pm.
Do you qualify for free and reduced price meals?
At this time, we are unsure if we will be able to continue to offer free meals past December. Mehlville School District encourages families who qualify for free and reduced meals to complete the 2020-2021 application now to avoid disruption.
If your household qualifies for free or reduced-price meals, please start your application now.
Our school food and nutrition employees are available to answer any questions you have about free and reduced price meals. You can reach them at 314-467-5250
Family Support Resources
The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for everyone. To help families find resources they may need, we have compiled support resources on our website. Check out this page to find free meals, utility assistance, childcare options and mental health support.
I would like to encourage our families to submit a MOSAIC Recognition Form to give a shout out to a MOSAIC student or staff member. I read submissions each day for morning announcements. It is a great way to begin the day!
PTO Weekly Update
Join our 4th annual MOSAIC Mile fun run to support our MOSAIC Students!
This completely virtual event allows students and their families to help support the PTO while getting outside to enjoy the fall weather!
Help the MOSAIC PTO raise funds to enhance project based learning opportunities for students. Donations secured during this event will allow school administration and staff to focus on providing outdoor education and classroom environments that strengthen the MOSAIC vision to achieve, imagine, create.
Joining our race is easy: Register your participant, fundraise from now until 11/13, then on Saturday, November 14th, accompany your family and walk, hike, swim, or bike a mile. It doesn’t matter what you do – as long as you have fun! Post pictures on our social media pages on race day using the hashtag – #MOSAICMile.
All students, their family and friends are encouraged to register for this event. Select the appropriate Team when completing registration. Students who register by Friday 10/30 will receive a free race t-shirt. Additional t-shirts may be purchased for family and friends participating in the race until Friday 10/30.
